FAQ

How much does a new concrete project cost?

The cost of a new concrete project depends on several factors, including the size, concrete thickness, site conditions, excavation requirements, reinforcement, finish, and drainage needs. Because every project is different, we provide free estimates tailored to your property and goals. At Chancellor Concrete & Excavating, Inc., we focus on delivering long-lasting quality and value rather than offering one-size-fits-all pricing.

How long does concrete take to cure?

Concrete begins to harden within a few hours, but curing is a gradual process. Most residential concrete can typically be walked on within 24–48 hours and driven on after about 7 days, depending on weather conditions and the specific concrete mix used. Concrete continues gaining strength over time and reaches its full design strength after approximately 28 days. Following our care recommendations helps ensure the best long-term performance.

Do I need excavation before pouring concrete?

In most cases, yes. We provide full service excavation to keep the process as seamless as possible. A strong concrete slab starts with a properly prepared base. Excavation removes unsuitable soil, allows for proper grading, and creates room for a compacted stone base that supports the concrete. Proper site preparation is one of the most important steps in preventing future settling and cracking. Our team evaluates every project to determine the preparation needed before any concrete is poured.

Can you remove my old concrete before installing new concrete?

Yes. We provide complete concrete removal and replacement services. We safely demolish and haul away existing concrete, prepare the base correctly, and install new concrete designed for long-term durability. Whether you're replacing a parking lot, commercial pavement, street, or driveway we handle the entire process from start to finish.

How do I know if my property needs grading or excavation?

Signs that grading or excavation may be needed include standing water, drainage problems, uneven ground, erosion, or areas where water flows toward your home or building. If your project involves new concrete, proper grading is often necessary to ensure water drains away from structures and the finished surface performs as intended. During your estimate, we'll evaluate your site and recommend any grading or excavation required.

What services do we provide?

We offer a full range of concreteexcavating, and underground utility services for residential, commercial, agricultural, and municipal projects. Our crews handle everything from small repairs to large‑scale site development.

Our team is here to answer your questions and help you get started on turning your vision into reality.
